FORMULATION
Each film-coated tablet contains 150mg of Ranitidine (as hydrochloride).
INDICATION
For the treatment of benign gastric ulcer and duodenal ulceration in gastro-eosophaeal reflux disease, hyersecretory conditions such as the Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome, stress ulceration, upper gastrointestinal tract acid aspiration syndrome and patients with chronic episodic dyspepsia.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
150mg twice daily. Duodenal and gastric ulcer 150mg twice a day or 300mg at bedtime for 4 weeks, if necessary up to 6-8 weeks. Esophagitis 150mg three times a day and up to 600-900mg. Or as directed by a physician.
CONTRAINDICATION
Any known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients. Safety during pregnancy and lactation has not been established. Patients with a known history of porphyria should avoid taking APO-ACIRIC 150 / 300.
PRECAUTION
Where a gastric ulcer is present, the possibility of malignancy should be excluded before treating a patient with a H2-antagonist, for it may mask the symptoms of carcinoma in the stomach therefore delay diagnosis of the condition.
ADVERSE REACTION
Transient and reversible changes in liver functions
Occasional reports of reversible hepatitis without jaundice(hepatocellular, hepatocanilar or mixed)
Blood count changes (leucopenia, thrombocytopenia)
Agranulocytosis or pancytopaenia without marrow hypoplasia or aplasia have been reported
After a single dose administration orally, anaphylactoid eg. Urticaria anglonuerotic oedema. Fever, bronchospasm, hypotension and anaphylactic shock have been observed.
Mainly in severely ill and elderly patients, incidents of reversible mental confusion, depression and hallucinations have been reproduced.
Constipation, diarrhea, nausea and vomiting
Skin rash, including cases of erythema multiforme
Acute pancreatitis, arthalgia and myalgia.
Male treated with ranitidine have complained discomfort, pain and /or swelling of breast and gynaecomastia
AVAILABILITY
Aciric 150mg : 10 tablets are packed in Aluminum / Aluminum foil strip of 10s box of 100 film-coated tablets.
STORAGE
Store below 30º C, in dry place. Protect from light and moisture.
