A Medical Research Laboratory results showed that apple guava leaves extracts or bark are implicated in therapeutic mechanisms against cancer, bacterial infections, inflammation and pain.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

For diarrhea and control stomach parasites:

Gather fresh Guava leaves,

Boil chopped pieces of about 4 to 6 tablespoon for every 18 ounces of water.

Strain and let cool.

Drink ¼ cup of decoction every 3-4 hours until symptoms improve.

Bayabas Side Effects

Eating too much of Bayabas fruit can cause constipation.

If there is no improvement to diarrhea symptoms in two days, consult your doctor.

More Benefits:

For diarrhea, boil for 15 minutes 4 to 6 tablespoons of chopped leaves in 18 ounces of water. Strain and cool. Drink 1/4 of the decoction every 3 - 4 hours.

For toothache, cew 2-3 young leaves and put into the tooth cavity; 

For gum swelling, chew leaves or use the leaf decoction as mouthwash 3 times daily; chewed leaves.

For skin ulcers, pruritic or infected wounds: Apply decoction of leaves or unripe fruit as wash or the leaf poultice on the wound or use the decoction for wound cleansing. It is also popularly used for the wound healing of circumcision wounds.

Nosebleeds: Densely roll the bayabas leaves and place into the nostril cavity.

Vaginal wash: Because of antiseptic properties, warm decoction of leaves as vaginal wash (after childbirth) or douche. 

Medicine for constipation:

Ripe guava can be eaten when you are constipated to help you have a bowel movement. 

Cataracts: Quercetin which is an antioxidant that blocks enzymes that are responsible for building sorbitol, the sugar that forms the cloudy white clusters that cause cataracts.

Other Medicinal uses: 

Guava leaves decoction is recognized for its effectiveness to cure several ailments, including the treatment of uterine hemorrhage, swollenness of the legs and other parts of the body, of chronic diarrhea, and gastroenteritis, among others. The most common use of the leaves is for cleaning and disinfecting wounds by rinsing the afflicted area with a decoction of the leaves. In the same way, such leaves are being used to aid in the treatment of dysentery and the inflammation of the kidneys. The bark and leaves can be used as astringent. It can also be used as a wash for uterine and vaginal problems, and is good for ulcers.
